After putting in her order, Kim realized that she didn't have much to distract herself from how badly she wanted to pounce on Leo. She nearly laughed at his question, not sure how to answer. "I think it's probably been the best vacation I've ever taken," she replied, a crooked smile on her face. Sure, she was nervous practically all of the time. She was on the verge to becoming a home wrecker. But she was happy. At least when she was around Leo, she was.
Realizing that it took two people to have a conversation and she couldn't expect Leo to do it himself, she decided to make an effort to act friendly. "How's work going?" It was casual, and it had nothing to do with anything she might want to do at this point, but it was enough to make things seem normal, right? [/blockquote]

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT Leo took that as a compliment, but the fact of the matter was, they were both falling in love with each other. And he knew this love was already more intense than his with Sophia's. leo didn't know why, but he could tell that it was. But what was the plan? Were they just going to be lovers for as long as she stayed and then break it off, going back to their lives? Was he going to leave Sophia and date Kim, and realize it wasn't meant to be and love someone else--or go back to Sophia? Or was Kim his forever and always, and he'd only found her late?
"Work on the ranch and on the Parson farm is hard, the sun's so hot, and the labor tough, but you feel acomplished," he said. "And Mac's, it's always fun." He could talk to everyone, anyone, for however long. Leo shrugged lightly. His life was good, and it had been calm and perfectly in order... until now... he kind of liked it this way.
"How long are you staying?" Another innocent question, but for them, it held so much more. How long would or could Kim stay here in Oakwood?

Kimberly listened as Leo told her about work. She'd imagined it was difficult, but she also figured he would get a feeling of accomplishment from it. She'd done some farm work when she was younger. She wasn't as good at it as a boy (because, well, obviously, she's a girl), but she at least knew what he was talking about. She nodded at him and offered him a smile. "Sounds like your jobs are better than mine," she admitted. Actually, she'd never been much of a fan of either of her jobs and wouldn't be too disappointed if she didn't get back to them.
Leo's next question caught her by surprise and she felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. How long was she staying? Really, she didn't have an answer for him. She wanted to say she'd stay forever, but she didn't know if she could make that commitment. "A actually don't know. Until the money runs out, I guess." And that was just the way of it. She hadn't made too much effort to keep things ready for her at home. She wasn't sure she had jobs to go back to, and she didn't think she had much of a reason. She was just a tourist here, though. If she stayed, she'd almost certainly end up ruining things, wouldn't she? [/blockquote]

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT Leo nodded at her words. But of course, if she had no money, where could she go? She'd have to leave enough money for the plane ride back, and the train trip to the airport. then she'd get more money by working at whatever jobs she had. Part of him just wished she could stay forever, but maybe he was getting ahead of himself, but he could already see them with a family, a life... and it proved to be more enticing than one with Sophia. Maybe because she was new and exciting, but he hardly equated that with this feeling, he'd made friends with attractive female visitors before, but really only as friends, ones that just stopped by to see him every few days and got on with life. But Kim... he wanted to see her all the time.
"What are your jobs?" he asked, realizing he had no idea what she did for a living. he didn't even know how old she was. Just a name and where she grew up, where she was from.

"You're gonna laugh at me," she told him when he asked what her jobs were. "I was... pretty much a carnie. I worked the game booths at a theme park. And I was a waitress. I kind of walked away from both jobs this summer, though. I don't know if they'll take me back. I just needed a change." She blushed a little at the admission. This was probably the most unreasonable thing she'd done in her entire life.
Biting her lower lip, she watched Leo for a few minutes. She hadn't thought before about how little they knew about one another. She couldn't quite help it, though. He was practically a stranger. "So... other than working and being engaged... what do you do? Do you have any pets or siblings? Are you like thirty? With a wife and kids?" Sure, they weren't the kind of questions you'd ask everyone, but she could play it off that way if she had to.

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT All the Carnies around here were not only scary and frightening, but rumored to be ghosts, so if she stayed here, she sure wasn't going to work there. Leo thought she might be good with kids or something, and she could always waitress around he supposed, already thinking of things. "I see why you'd do that, work at a carnival I mean, its colorful and exciting." Just the one around here was a little sketchy. He was almost hopeful when she said she didn't know if they'd take her back, maybe she'd have to stay... or want to stay....
Leo listened to her string of questions and laughed lightly. "Do I look thirty?" He asked jokingly pointing to himself. "I'm 22. And I don't have a wife and kids yet but someday." Leo said realizing he might end up leaving his almost wife..... "I have a sister, Alice, she's 17."
Leo had to think a moment, he spent most of his time working out in the yard with his hands, manual labor. But if he had to pick a hobby.... "I sketch sometimes.... when I have free time..." Which wasn't really that often. "I like cooking, but I don't much since I like eating with my family, eating whatever ma cooks, more fun than eating by myself."

Did he look thirty? KC couldn't help but laugh at that. "Of course you don't! But looks can be deceiving, you know..." She listened patiently as he told her more about himself, glad to know anything he was willing to share. His mention of having a family one day brought a smile to her face. Being adopted, she'd never known her real family, but she was in love with the idea of having one. It simply gave her more reason to adore Leo. She was only slightly jealous of his mention of a sibling. She'd always wanted to know if she had any siblings, but she'd been adopted as a baby, and didn't know her siblings if she had any.
She'd expected him to spend most of his time working, and wasn't at all sure what to expect his hobbies to be, but she was delighted with them. "I couldn't draw to save my life... And I'm not really a great cook," she admitted. She could hardly make toast without burning it. "I like to dance... And I read. And sometimes I like to go running.... I used to do gymnastics when I was younger and I used to ride horses. Sometimes I wish I still did..." He'd shared his hobbies. It was only fair that she do the same.
Her voice trailed off and a soft smile played on her lips as she watched Leo for a moment. "Oh, and I'm twenty." Age never had been a huge deal to her, but she had to admit, she was glad he was older than her. In her experience, guys a couple years older than her were easier to get along with. [/blockquote]

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT Leo smiled. If she didn't like to cook, well, then he could if they ended up together. It would be a little out of the ordinary around here, but worth it. He enjoyed food, and he certainly didn't mind making it. At the mention of jogging he laughed. "Oh, yeah, I go for a job around town every morning." Maybe they could 'bump' into each other one morning, just not too often. He listened as she went on talking about dancing and riding horses.
"You know, the ranch does give lessons, if you want to try it again." Leo told her. He wasn't the only one who worked there, but maybe he could work with her, or near her anyway if she came by. And certainly, if she hung around for good, she'd always have the chance. The Giddieon's weren't the only ones with horses--since he'd never be allowed back if he broke it off with Sophia. Unless her family still liked him after that....

She hadn't been on a jog in a while, but KC figured she could certainly start jogging again now that she knew she'd stand a chance of running into Leo. That would make her mornings far better than they had been so far. Still, she couldn't pretend that their relationship was casual forever. She wasn't very good at it as it was, and they'd only just met. The girl simply smiled at the mention of riding lessons. She might show up for those, but she wasn't going to make any promises.
KC was more than happy for their food to come. It gave them something besides each other to focus on and meant that they probably wouldn't be giving themselves away anytime soon. The girl focused on her food and found that conversation was kept to a minimum until they'd both finished.
"So... did you have to get back right away?" she asked, biting her bottom lip. She wasn't sure what her suggestion might be, but she'd rather know that she was going to get to spend a little more time with Leo. [/blockquote] ooc - so i skipped to the end of their lovely meal. lol. hope you don't mind!!

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT They ate in silence, which was alright with him. And when she asked him if he had to get back right away, he laughed. "Nah, I don't really have to go back. I work there in the morning mostly." He had afternoons off and evening at Mac's most days.
He knew he couldn't really take her to his house, even if Sophia wouldn't be there, his family lived right next door, and you didn't invite strangers to your house. People would notice. Leo counted out a few rumpled bills and left them on the table. They could go back to Caldwell property, they were bound to find open space there, where they could just be. he knew that's what younger couples did, and he hoped they wouldn't run into any. there was enough space.
He stood up and smiled, winking to Kim lightly, as if saying he knew where to bring her, he just couldn't tip off anyone here where they were going. Hopefully, she'd just follow his lead.

KC couldn't have hidden her excitement at Leo's answer if she'd tried. She smiled in response to his wink and rose from the table, doing her best to remain casual. It took them an agonizing few seconds to reach the door of the restaurant and Kimberly was pretty sure she'd burst before they got into open air. Even then, she couldn't relax entirely. She bit her lower lip and tried her darnedest to hide the grin that wanted to emerge.
Though Kimberly tried not to think too much about how much she wanted to touch Leo, she couldn't deny being elated when they made it to the secluded field they'd come to the day before. She figured it was a regular meeting spot for people who wanted privacy. It made sense. After all, it was kind of secluded from the rest of the town.
Not bothering to wait very long at all, she pounced on the moment, pressing her lips to Leo's feverishly. A moment later, she lowered herself back to her feet. "Sorry... I couldn't help it," she admitted, a soft blush tinting her cheeks. [/blockquote]

be careful what you wish for CAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT The walk to Caldwell's was unbareable, taking far too long. And he could have sworn the fields were running away from them as they walked rather quickly to their destination, and as they got their, leo tried to check for other couples but didn't get long to look because Kim was kissing him more hungrily than the first time, and as she started he felt the need in his own body bubbling inside of him. She broke away, apologizing again, but what for? That's what they were here for.
Leo chuckled softly cupping her face in his hands, looking into her eyes with a soft smile. "You don't have to hold anything back." He said softly. He didn't want her too, he needed to know if this was real, if this was really meant to be. If she was the one he should have been waiting for. Leo pressed his lips to hers, starting tender, but as time ticked by, it became deeper and he felt his heart pounding. This felt so much more than anything Sophia ever gave him....

Hearing that she didn't have to hold anything back was exactly what KC needed. She'd never been good at containing her feelings, and she didn't figure she was going to get any better at it anytime soon. His lips returned to hers and she slid her arms around him, kissing him back, matching his passion.
As his kisses deepened, she pressed herself closer to him. "I think I'm in love with you," she whispered, terrified of the words as soon as they'd left her mouth. Love was a much bigger concept than she was ready to deal with at the moment. If he was anything like most of the guys she knew, he'd be scared by it. Besides, it just made things a lot more complicated than they had to be. Just because she felt it (and she figured he did, too) didn't mean she had to say it out loud. Some things were better kept quiet. [/blockquote]
