Feeling more patient than usual, Kimberly bit her lip and listened to what the boy had to say, her hands plunged into her pockets. It was the safest place for them at this point. She mostly watched her feet, the sequins on her shoes reflecting the sunlight. She supposed she could understand how he'd gotten into a situation like that. She herself was from a pretty small town. Her own parents had been high school sweethearts. They were among the few who still loved each other. Who had actually formed a connection when they were younger. Most of the married couples she knew from home were either divorced or far from loyal. It was the sort of thing that happened when you settled for what was expected. You sold yourself short, and the consequences weren't easy to deal with.
Letting out a small sigh, she offered Leo a half smile. "Yeah, but if you've settled for something comfortable instead of... you know... love... well, don't you think Sophia deserves the right to find love, too? I mean real love... The fairytale kind..." She couldn't deny that she might have done the same in Leo's situation. She'd have settled for what was expected of her. That was why she'd fled the small town life as soon as possible.
Suddenly afraid that he wouldn't want to be having this conversation with her, KC clamped her lips shut. When she raised her eyes, she saw that they'd made it to the ride. She watched as Leo selected a swing and chewed her lower lip for a moment before taking the seat beside his. They were the only people on there at the moment. They'd probably have to wait until the ride filled up a little more before it got started. [/blockquote]

take my hand tonight let's not think about tomorrowtake my hand tonight we could find some place to go(outfit) "Right, that's why she's not lucky." Leo said to her as she joined him at the ride. "But what if I'm her fairytale? She doesn't know how I feel, I've never told anyone but you." He still wasn't sure why he'd done it. Kim didn't care. She had no reason too. And yet...
"I mean, I could end it, but in a town this small.... its all anyone would talk about, hell they're still talking about the engagement. I still have to live here when it's over--if it ends-- I don't have enough money or education to go anywhere else." If he broke up with Sophia, everyone would know it, and he'd be basically out of a job since he worked for her parents. Where would she go to look? She was a school teacher, not a ton of cash, but she'd gone to college. But she liked it here too, and it wasn't like they had a million single young men around. He didn't want to throw her by the curb.
But he didn't manage to say this all out loud, he was too busy looking into Kim's eyes without knowing why.
Then it hit him.
She captivated him.

He raised a good point. Still, KC wasn't quite sure it was possible for one person to have a fairytale if the other person didn't. "It's not true love if you don't feel it, too," she mumbled before she could stop herself, instinctively clapping her hand over her mouth. It really wasn't any of her business and she just couldn't seem to stay uninvolved!
She couldn't help but listen as he continued to talk and, naturally, she wondered once again what she might have done in the same circumstance. She thought about replying to him, but found herself rather entranced by the look in his eyes. He seemed as if he couldn't look away from her, and she seemed to be having the same problem. Her blue eyes fixed on his and she drew her lower lip into her mouth, feeling as if she could lose herself in his eyes forever. Before she knew quite what she was doing, she'd leaned over, closing the small distance between their unmoving swings. "You've got to stop looking at me like that," she whispered, her lips brushing lightly against his. It was barely a kiss, but she knew she shouldn't have done it the moment she did. Pulling away from him, she hung her head. "I'm sorry... I just...." She just? She couldn't exactly explain that, could she? She'd just felt such a strong connection to him. She'd been overwhelmed. She hadn't known what to do, so she'd done what felt right. [/blockquote]

take my hand tonight let's not think about tomorrowtake my hand tonight we could find some place to go(outfit) Leo knew deep in his heart that she was right, but he was scared to end it, especially just based on Kim's random appearance into his life. He was going to sleep on it for a while, because he was too afraid of change. Why else would he have lived in Oakwood all this time doing exactly the same things as he'd done before?
And when he blinked, her face was a million times closer, her hot lips sweet against his mouth and he was shocked--not so much because she'd done it-- but because of hot it felt. That soft movement, barely able to be called a kiss, had such an effect on him and while he knew it was utterly wrong he wanted to reach out and touch her, try to kiss her for real. To test what had just happened. "Its...uh... okay." he said, realized she'd apologized.

And then they were flying.
It was cliché, but he wondered it if was a sign, they'd barely kissed and they were flying, literally and perhaps figuratively. And he found himself looking sideways at her for part of the ride before he allowed himself to look down at the ground, at the world he knew spinning around in the same circles, doing the same things, and then up at the sky, as unchanging as ever.
The only thing that was different was the air around him.
She wasn't sorry.
And he was glad that she wasn't sorry.
The ride ended far before he expected it too, but he'd only been half paying attention to his physical body. And when the ride stopped he sat there for a moment, slightly dumb struck. Leo got out and looked at Kim with a crooked smile. "Do you wanna just get out of here? I could give you a tour of the town." Somehow that felt safer, because he found his lips itching to touch hers again.

She'd hoped the ride would give her enough time to banish the idea of kissing him again. Unfortunately, KC didn't seem to be that easily swayed. As the swings slowed and she watched herself returning to the familiar gravity of the carnival, she let out a soft sigh. Was this where it ended, then? They'd gone on their ride and that was all he'd asked for. Kimberly was slowly readying herself to leave his company (however much she DIDN'T want to, she knew it would have to happen eventually) when Leo turned to her once again.
A huge grin brightened her face. Was she really this lucky? She'd been sure this was where they parted ways. Sure, he was a local and she was vacationing in a small town. That meant she'd almost certainly see him again. It didn't, however, mean they had to acknowledge one another. Not unless they wanted to. But judging by his suggestion, she didn't have much to worry about in that area. "I'd love to," she agreed, reaching for his hand again. She couldn't seem to stop herself, but she wasn't sorry, and she figured if he was, he'd let her hand go. [/blockquote]

I shouldn't love you (( but I want to )) ``I just can't turn away! I shouldn't see you (( but I can't move )) ``I can't look away!and i dont know how to be fine when i'm notcause i don't know how to make the feelings stop Leo almost sighed as she accepted his offer, thankful to whatever higher power there was that she was going to go with him, and maybe it was fueled by the sinful desire to kiss her again, to see how she compared to the woman he already had, the one he wasn't sure of. Maybe that was all he wanted, but who could blame him? She was simple, a small town girl, easy and light, simple but fun. And she was beautiful, and something hang in the silences that weren't the same as the silence with Sophia--the silence that got bored.
"Great," Leo said genuinely glad, but hopefully not over bearing. "This place kinda gives me the creeps." He said. That was also true, after all the rumors, he was the only local that really came by that often. She had taken him by the hand and he didn't want to let go, and while he was a friendly person, if he was seen holding hands with a stranger... one a pretty as Kim.....
But Leo held her hand all the way to the gate and then paused when they were on the other side and he loosened his fingers. "I am engaged Kim, people will talk..." He said looking into her eyes. "I wish I didn't have to..." Have to let go of you. But with that he turned from ehr face and nodded down the street. "We'll go this way first."

Totally true, i knew some of them, thats why us local country bumpkins steer clear." he joked lightly, his personality settling in him again. He could go back to being sunny and warm, out going and fun. Finally. And he felt even more alive than he had felt in a while, even if a part of him cried when he had to let go of her hand.
They walked in silence for a while, his hands in his back pockets occasionally pointing to a far off farm or barn and explaining what it was. Then they started to hit the streets where people lived if they didn't have a farm, or didn't live on the farm. "That's my house, the one with the red door and window boxes, my little sister loves those." He told her.
At that moment a bent old man came out of the house next door and smiled brightly at them, obviously full of more spunk than anyone would expect from him. "Leonard my boy, how are you today?" He asked in a clear voice and a smile that reached his eyes.
"I'm good Mr Huey, how are you?" Leo replied with a similar smile.
"Never better. Have fun now!" He commanded before going into his garage and starting to look for something.
Once they had passed Leo laughed. "My mother had this thing for Leonardo Dicaprio when she got pregnant with me, but she figured she couldn't name be Leonardo since we weren't Italian, so I got stuck with Leonard, which is a fairly ugly name, hence why I go by Leo. But he never calls me leo, I've managed to get over it." he shrugged lightly.

"We have a little town with some shops and such in it, a park... people around here just make their own fun, or drive to the nearest city, which isn't that close." She had to know that though, all the visitors took a train from the airport to here, and the ride wasn't that quick.
Leo found it hard not to touch her, and he wanted to try, so he could know for sure that there was something between them before he jumped to conclusions. He suddenly took a different turn and told her to follow him. They headed for Caldwell Field, the edge closest to them. It had some of the prettiest views around, the land was pretty expansive, sometimes you'd never see another person, that was why the place was used for anything you didn't want people to know about.
They stood alone for a moment, looking out over rolling hills and he said nothing but he reached a hand out of his pocket, and held it open in the air beside him, wondering how long it would take for her to notice it was there for her to take.

and i dont know how to be fine when i'm not``cause i don't know how to make the feelings stop! When she took his hand, he noticed for the first time how smooth and warm it was, and how ell it fit into his string weathered ones.He didn't want to let go, ever, and he realized this could easily be the start of an affair. One that he would not regret, ever, but could he get it to change his mind? Maybe when he felt and knew he was in love for sure, then he could let Sophia go. But he was afraid of losing everything he had, and everything he was.
"Come on." He said suddenly, starting off down the hill at a run, knowing she'd pick up the pace and run too--he didn't want to drag her, so he waited to see how fast she could go. And they flew down the hill, tall grasses and flowers whipping by and Leo just laughed. This reminded him on his younger days, when love was new, when it meant something.
He scooped her up into his arms and almost scared himself at the sight of her face, it seemed so natural, even if it was not the face he'd been looking at for so many years, not the face he was marrying, not the face that...
Leo found he had put his lips softly on hers only to pull away, putting her back on his feet. "I'm engaged-- I can't--- Dammit--" And he went in for a second kiss. God must have had it out for him.
