History:
Colby and Megan Lynn were the normal Oakwood, Indiana couple. They grew up together, living next door to each other of all things, became high school sweethearts, then they both attended two years at the community collage nearby, and than got married, soon after having one baby girl, who they named Brooke. Brooke Lynn, no middle name. A girl, who's full name were others first name. That was their first mistake.
Brooke grew up with a vengeance towards her parents. Sure, she liked the name Brooke, it had style, but with the last name Lynn, it wasn't right. It was just mean. Not just that, Brooke always wanted more, more than Oakwood. Oakwood was nothing. She wanted bigger. She watched all the fashion shows, all the gossip shows. She tried to put together outfits like the ones on TV with what she could get in Oakwood, but it was never enough. Finally, she was through.
It was the April of grade nine, and Brooke was 15. She got into a fight with her parents, and she packed her bags and ran out. Her parents expected her back in the morning, but she wasn't. She was out of town by morning. That was the last time she saw Oakwood, and the last time she said a thing to her parents, the words being, "I hate you!"
Brooke hitch hiked wanting to get far away. She made it out of the state and as far as New York City, where she decided to stop. She knew she would have to live on the streets for a while, and she saw there to be many already there, so that was where to start. For years she lived on the streets, doing things she hated and wished never to remember. But she collected money, and one day, got an apartment, a small, disgusting, no bathroom, one room apartment, that she shared with four others, but it was still somewhere.
Eventually Brooke got a small job working for a a newspaper - even with no schooling she was smart and had good writing schools, plus, she always stayed in with the gossip, and knew how to wriggle information out of people. The newspaper didn't keep her on as it was gossip she kept on wanting to write - and they learned she was from the streets, but a magazine picked her up right after. Soon she was offered a job from one of the top gossip magazines and she took it, moving to California to be with the main source. Brooke was finally getting somewhere, and she was able to get back into the fashion business, having money once more.
Brooke was doing great. Not quite rich, but with a lot of money. High up in the company, especially for her age, getting the best gossip, going to a different party every night, and labeled the best dressed in California four times running. It was the life. Than she got her next assignment.
Brooke was sitting in a conference meeting, everybody getting their assignments when the boss spoke up. "There's this Carnival of Fears thing in this hick town in Indiana. Nothing big, except their are these rumors about it, weird rumors. They say though it attracts many tourists, the townspeople avoid it." Brooke didn't know what came over her, she'd been denying any connection to the place for years, it just slipped out, "Well, ya, people keep on disappearing." Everybody looked at her. It took awhile but finally she reluctantly admitted to having lived there once upon a time. It was well known that she had once lived on the streets, but before that her past was unknown. Finally it was revealed.
Of course, Brooke got the assignment, because she had 'connections', and she 'knew the Carnival' having gone there when she was a kid. She tried to refuse - but she couldn't. Now Brooke is headed back to a town she hasn't seen in eight years, that contains a family she hasn't spoken to in just as long. She plans on getting the dirt on the Carnival and getting out - and showing the town how much she's changed and that she's not one of them.
And I Try To Sit In The Shadows
so no one can see my true face
so no one can see my true face
Name: Ley
Rp Experience: A year and a half...
Where did you find us?: I play Danny here ^.^
Rp Sample:
Danny had gone to the Carnival because Carnival's were said to cheer you up, and Danny needed cheering up. People always said that the Carnival of Oakwood was suspicious and to stay away from it, they were weary of it, the people who lived in the town. That's what made Danny go to it. But that wasn't his reason than. His reason than was Carnivals were said to cheer you up. He should have known better. It was the Carnival of Fears, after all, and people disappeared in it. Danny would not be cheered up there.
Why was Danny so down? It had been two days - two days since the night at Caldwell Field. Lily had kissed him than ran away. He hadn't seen her since. She was avoiding him, he knew it. She hadn't meant to kiss him - or worse, she'd been able to tell how he'd felt and it was just a sympathy kiss. She didn't feel the same way, that much Danny knew. Why else would she be avoiding him? Danny couldn't think of a reason.
Danny sighed as he stepped into the line for the Ferris Wheel. It was all for the better, anyways. That way he had nothing to hold him to Oakwood - he'd be leaving any day. But he knew he wouldn't be. He had to at least see her one more time before he left. He could tell that he was really attached to her - his brother told him so. Yes, his brother knew about Lily, he couldn't hide anything from him, since they slept in the same room and Danny talked in his sleep. He didn't know why he had slept at home last night. But apparently he had said Lily's name more often than leaving Oakwood.
Danny sighed as he got onto the Ferris Wheel. It started going. Up he went, and down. He went around once before it let somebody else on the same seat with him. He looked over just as they were sitting down.
It was Lily.
